Super-dad

Yup, that's my dad...finishing his second half-marathon. When people ask me where I get my energy, it's pretty easy to answer...of course it's from my mom, the woman who puts up with this crazy, running-obsessed old man (hahaha).

Who'd have thought that a 50 year old, pack-a-day-smoking, 70 lbs overweight man would be be running half marathons and thinking about full marathons and triathlons 4 years later?

Way to go Dad!

Alicia & Jeremy

What fun! Alicia was gorgeous and relaxed, Jeremy and the groomsmen provided the colour and their vows to their three boys were so touching. We got so many great shots, I can't wait to get through them all!

Happy one week anniversary.....almost

Nothing (including a glued together eyelid) could wipe the smile off of Caitlin's face last Saturday. Special thanks to Nick's groomsmen for going along with the nicknames I tossed at them until I learned their real names!

Paging Dr. Costescu

( Dr. Dustin and Michael)

I'd like to congratulate one of my favourite grooms on graduating from medical school. Dustin officially becomes DR. Costescu (please rise when he enters the room) tomorrow. On our official meeting, Dustin, his fiance Michael and I spent twice as much time chatting as I usually do with initial meetings (poor guys, I think I blabbed their ears off).

Anyway, though I had nothing to do with his success, I am very proud and wish you a beautiful celebration tomorrow....we'll continue celebrating at the wedding!

Edgey Red Deer

I just spent the past week in my hometown of Red Deer, Alberta. I try to make it home during the spring between winter and summer weddings so I have a chance to recharge. In an effort to really focus on relaxing, I didn't even take an SLR home with me...just my point and shoot camera.

Okay, so I'm home for about 4 hours when my fingers get itchy and I start rifling through my parents hall closet to find my dad's old manual Yashika. The only film he had in the house was a couple of rolls of 800 ISO he had left over from a trip to Honduras in January (he uses 800 for underwater stuff when he's scuba diving).

So the 800 gives me some edgy grainy shots that are a little weird but kinda fun because when I think of Red Deer, I think of a warm, cozy place, not this edgy, harsh world that you see on this film. (p.s., thanks to my sister, Erin, for driving be around that freezing night I decided to shoot!)
