Gratitude

Without love I would be nothing. On the final days of one of the most demanding years of my life, I look back not with the exhaustion of building another new business or raising two energetic children; not with the sadness of loss of another year in my 30's; not with regrets of any kind; but with gratitude.

I am grateful for the love of a great man, the honour of being a mother, the privilege of owning a business in a world where in some countries women are not even allowed to show their faces and the blessing of friendship.

Thank you friends, for enriching my life, for adding your story to mine and for the promise of many beautiful chapters to come.

I say good bye to 2007 while sharing a few photos of friends that I am especially grateful for. Jenn Jenn and Luke now live on the West Coast and only make it back here a couple of times a year. With the promise of feeding me, I consented to shoot a few images....seriously, beautiful people, inside and out. Love you both.

Jason & Nancy, December 2007

Sorry Folks,

We have been so busy trying to get Nancy and Jason their proofs before Christmas (success!) while getting all the albums, enlargements, custom frames, etc done too that I didn't get a chance to blog about Nancy and Jason's wedding.

This was one COLD day!!!! Now I'm an Alberta girl, so believe me I know cold and this was C-O-L-D!!!! Of course, I kept warm because my lenses kept freezing up and I had to run back and forth to get the aperture and focus that I wanted! hee hee.

Anyway, here is our resplendent winter bride and her charming groom amidst the snow in Orangeville earlier this month.

Prints Before Christmas...yes, there's still time

Merry"Fritz"mas!!!!
This busy little elf has been in her workshop day and night getting your proofs done and albums together but she's happy to tell you that there is still time to have enlargements made of all your favourite wedding, belly, baby and family photos.
We can help you out with custom or ready made framing or even print your gift on canvas, creating a true heirloom-quality gift!!!!
Fun stuff!!! call, email or send a pigeon if you have any questions!

Busy Girl and Bad Email!!!!!

Okay so I've been off the blog for a bit but it's not because I haven't been shooting, au contraire....! In fact, I haven't had a spare second to blog between fall/winter engagement shoots, getting fall wedding proofs out, pre Christmas orders and albums orders ...well...it's been a bit crazy. I'll blog soon with some amazing stuff we captured and some beautiful people who have captured by heart.

In the meantime, I wanted to make anyone trying to contact me through email aware that we have been having extreme issues with our email systems and I have discovered that there are dozens of emails that have been sent that I have not received. Please, if you have sent me an email and are unsure if I have received it, please call 519.502.2719 and I will follow up right away.

Thanks for your understanding,
Heather

Shootin' your own kid

Okay, I have to admit, I'm a total sucker for the kitschy school photos that come out every year. I suppose since my parents featured/humiliated my brother, sister and I by hanging an 8x10 from each school year in a row ALL the way across our family room wall for ours friends to see (laugh at),it is just ingrained into my sense of tradition.

Since my daughter is in SK and my son is in pre-school, my daughter gets photos, my son doesn't. This past Saturday, my husband brought wee Mr. Sam into the Boulevard Studio http://www.boulevardphotography.com/ for a quickie photoshoot. First of all, he had convinced his dad to put a full bottle of gel in his hair and then...well, take a look for yourself, this is my Sam in all his glory!

Tank! at the new studio!!

Well, my new studio, Boulevard Photography and Fine Things, is off to a flying start!!!! We've had such a wide range of interesting photo shoots, from pet portraits, to fashion shoots to product shoots. There is no way we'll be able to keep up with production and blog about everything so we'll pop on and give you a bit of a highlight every now and then.
This is Tank, he goes to work everyday with his owners, the brothers from the barber shop two doors down from the studio. Michael and Dominic were shocked to here we'd photograph their dog for them and even more surprised when Tank acted like a perfect gentleman.
If you are interested in having your pet photographed, give us a call and we'll be sure to find space for him, her or it!

Mark & Lisa, October 20, 2007

WOW! I love Unionville, great people, great places to shoot and a baseball team of "Divas" to help me stop traffic! Mark is a true gentleman and Lisa a lady of grace and kindness. Thank you both for inviting us into your special day.

Jason & Jennifer, October 13, 2007

I don't know what I liked best about this couple, the fact that they feel like family because this is the second "Rogers Sister" wedding I have photographed in as many years or the fact that they agreed to and wanted to eat Kawartha Ice Cream outside in a freezing downpour!

Jason and Jennifer, you are an inspiring couple, making such a truly beautiful out of such intense weather.

Robert & Melissa, September 22, 2007

There was only one thing more touching than the moment when Melissa's dad saw her in her gown for the first time on Melissa and Robert's wedding day and whispered "hey Tooch". That was the moment that Robert saw Melissa as she began to walk down the aisle. Robert, a man of few words said much with the look on his face. The bustle of the great big Italian wedding didn't seem to register with this couple who seemed to exist in a world of their own as 4'11 Melissa's eyes constantly swept upward to take in the gaze of her 6'1" groom. Congratulations you two, it was a joy and a pleasure to be there.

Jake & Joan, September 16, 2007

This make have been the most outwardly happy couple I have ever met. Jake was grinning SOOOOOOOO big that the congregation actually broke out into laughter when he walked into the church. The smiles REALLY never left their faces, from the moment exquisite Joan walked through the trees to see Jake for the first time to the moment that we left them with their private champagne cuddle at the end of the day. What a perfect way to spend a sunny September afternoon!

Tara & Jeff, September 15, 2007

It just seemed like this wedding started out perfectly elegant and yet still got better and better as the day wore on. The bride was perfect, gorgeous and relaxed. Her flowers and the bridesmaid dresses were so unique, they were a photographers dream. The wedding party was a blast, the kids in the wedding party we so cute, they were edible. The groom was easy going (and totally gorgeous, too).
The wedding was outdoors at one of my favourite wedding venues and restaurants, the Old Mill in Aberfoyle. Thank you Tara and Jeff, we had so much fun and met so many great people along the way!

So proud to call her my friend....

I remember the swell of pride I felt when I saw the photo of Jenn crossing the finish line at Toronto's Weekend to End Breast Cancer. This is a 60 km walk to raise funds to end this terrible disease. Jenn used to work with me and has been the 2nd shooter at many of my weddings. Jenn has since moved to Vancouver but comes back to Ontario on a regular basis to shoot Boulevard weddings (and visit her family). She is a favourite with engaged couples and their families because she has a true passion for making your day special. Her passion for giving continues across the county as she prepares to walk ANOTHER 60 km walk.

Read below and if you can, offer her your support.
Thank you,
Heather

From Jenn:
Hi Friend,
On September 5-7, 2008 I'll be participating in The Weekend to End Breast Cancer.I'll walk 60 kilometres over 2 days with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, treatment, and services through the BC Cancer Foundation.I've agreed to raise at least $2,000, but I'd love to exceed the $2600 I raised a couple of years ago. Use the link at the bottom of this email to visit my site - and please take the time to support me. Please keep in mind how far I'm walking - and how hard I'll have to train.According to the National Cancer Institute of Canada, approximately 20,500 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and about 5,400 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.Thank you in advance for your generosity!Sincerely,Jennifer KirkClick here to visit my personal page.If the text above does not appear as a clickable link, you can visit the web address:http://www.endcancer.ca/site/TR/Events/Vancouver2008?px=2350764&pg=personal&fr_id=1255&fl=en_US&et=G3G0vCfzpuy9wO7EVct-_A..&s_tafId=187181

Kevin & Tiffany, September 8, 2007

The universe certainly has a way of evening things out. Months ago we did Kevin and Tiffany's engagement shoot on a bitterly cold day where Tiffany just about froze her toes off. BUT...on their wedding day the sun shone and we had the best weather. It was such a blast to stroll through St. Jacobs with this group, eating ice cream and recreating old album covers!

Beautiful day!
